Want to get more power from my evo. Cam?

I was shocked how much power I picked up from simply adjusting my throttle/idle cables following the svc manual (instead of just snugging them both up.)
Can anyone tell me how to identify what's already been done to my motor? I bought the bike with 60k miles and wasn't able to speak to the original owner. It seems to have decent power but I would love to have more (as always.) How can I tell if its had a new cam, lifters, re-jet, etc....? It has some obvious upgrades that have been done. It has cycle shack slip-ons, K&N filter, and a few more minor upgrades. The Push Rod covers look as if they might be aftermarket but I just don't have an eye for what the originals look like. The ignition module looks stock
92' FLHTC w/ CV carb and VOES

There are two things that I would check before doing anything, first make sure you are getting full throttle, next do a compression test and a leak down. No sense putting pearls on a swine. If your compression is down and/or your rings, valves aren't in good shape then the benefits of the cam, etc will be diminished. once you do this then the help can be much more focused. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pointers.
I've put about 4k miles on it with only minor problems which I've resolved. I've caught up all the maintenance and verified my compression is good. Are there any ways to inspect for an aftermarket cam? More importantly....it sounds like I need to make sure my lifters have been replaced. Are there ways to check for these 2 upgrades? Thanks for the help

Not sure if this will help you but when mine had the stock cam I had no acceleration on 5th gear.
If you want to pay the money you can dyno it and kinda guess what you would have to have in order to get the numbers that come up on the dyno.
Unfortunately the best way is still to open her up.
