Default Rear brake switch

While riding today I noticed no voltage drop when I hit my rear brake. Gor home and when I pull the wires off the switch and close the circuit they work seems like an easy fix but before I pulled the switch I put the multi meter on it hit the pedal and the switch seems to work I cleaned all the connections and nothing. The wiring is ok and the multi meter says the switch is good. My only thought now is not enough current flowing thru the switch to activate the light but still show a closed circuit on the multi meter.

Okay, flame suit on!!! I can say to you my wrong method. Take a rear switch, soak it in brake fluid disconnect wires, un screw switch and screw new one in. I skip bleeding the brakes as I find it is unneccesary because I have done it so quickly.
Now watch out for a spongy pedal, if so u gotta bleed em. Try it my way and then fail, then do it the right way. Telling ya though it will be fine.

There are two switches totaly independent. Does the other work? Which one are you talking about? You can only work on one at a time.

The hydrolic switch on the piston for the rear brake, $11 at the local auto parts store and I'm guessing $50 at the Harley shop.

if you can't get a switch with the right terminals for your bike, just rig up some short jumper wires. i had to go from spade terminals to post type.

I bought the HD one because the auto store is not stainless steel but a zinc. 95 softails run those bytechez at the bottom of the bike behind the tranny in the way of puddles.
