Default Fix for a stiff choke?

When I pull the choke on my TG, it feels rather stiff. I'll start the bike, and it'll run 1000 to 1200 rpm for maybe 10 seconds then drop to around 800 or so. The bike will start to stall, and I'll have to grab the choke and pull it out again. It's a repeat until necessary process. Any way to correct that problem?

Not 100% sure about your particular model, but I'm sure the carbs are all mostly the same.

The black plastic ferrule at the **** mounting location will tighten the **** so it wont slide down on you by itself. Hope it helps.

Be very careful, that plastic breaks very easily. Loosen the plastic nut on the back and then hand tighten the ferruled **** on the front, then retighten the rear nut..easy does it!!

If it is not slipping-(not sure of your original post)-, try starting it and then maintaining the idle speed with your throttle lock while reducing the enricher-(choke).

+1 on being careful retightening the ferrule. I took mine off and tightened the nut to keep the choke from loosening. Put the choke back in its mounting bracket and started tightening the nut, then crack. The plastic snapped. I was pissed. I have been able to rig it to stay but very frustrating.

I think I have it. Loosened the front and back nuts. tightened down the front a bit more thanit was. Snugged up the rear nut and now it seems to be holding. Thanks!

Pull the **** all the way out and put a dab of lube on the the shaft then push it back in and adjust the lock nut.

Hmmm..... My service manual specifically says not to use any lubrication on the choke cable.
