1988 FXRS-sp Starter/Solendoid issue?

It depends on the model and year of the bike.

Some do not need a second relay.

One thing all starting systems need is a good healthy supply of electricity to the starter relay circuit, and the starter motor circuit.

Once you tell us the year and model bike you have, we can trace the relay circuit and troubleshoot, after that we can check out the starter motor circuit.

Don`t buy a starter.
