Update: Changed out the cam sensor plate with a brand new one...problem still exists. Could it be the ICM? Not sure, but I believe the manual has a procedure to test it.

Oh well, at least the parts I've replaced so far were 17 years old and would of had to been changed anyways, so it's not like I've really spent any money unnecessarily. At least that's my rationale and I'm sticking with it.

consider check of inside of gas tank..consider empty gas thru a paper coffee filter..a loose wire someplace could cause a drop out...battery cables (both ends of each) all wires are suspect.

Took the bike to the dealer this morning. It's now in their hands. I just hope they don't stick it to me too much. I just want to ride!

Did the '95 have the POS vacuum petcock ? I'm guessing it did: seen many a rider on the side of the road as a result of them. Just curious

Matter of fact it does. I mistakenly called it a fuel pump on one of my previous posts. I'll just be glad to know what is actually causing the problem. I will definitely post what the dealer finds out.

Hope the dealer gets you going asap.
Beats replacing parts and hoping, "been there, done that".
I just read this and was going to suggest the cheapest method of checking your ignition module: Removing the seat and placing a bag of ice cubes on top of the ignition module.
I had a bad ignition module on my '87FXSTC and it would do some strange things.
Back then, the module was mounted upside down on the bottom of the oil tank and it was real bear to change so most folks left the old module on the tank and pulled the harness to place the module under the seat, where it shhould have been placed in the first place.

Got the bike back from the dealer today. The problem was with the vacuum petcock. They found a pin hole in it. That, was causing all my problems. HarleyGyrene, you got it right!

Thanks to everyone for their help with this. It's time to RIDE!

A day short and a dollor late. I put the spring on the other side in the petcock that holds the diefram open , and pluged the vacuum line , took about an hour. Then got a rebuld kit for it. I hate spendng money on labor

Good troubleshooting thread, so what did it cost in the shop?
