I would check the pickup in the nose cone by spraying it with cold spray. Start it up and let it run till it quits, and then spray it and see if it will start and run OK. Sure sounds like a temperature sensitive pickup to me. My 2 cents.

Sorry bro, not sure what that is. When I pull the points cover off, I see what I think is the cam shaft sensor(?) Is that what you're talking about or is it behind that?
I have a test tool that connects between the plug wire and the plug. It has a clear body so you can see the spark if there is one.
Tool defective?

Not what I meant, but apparently I missed the part where you said it's injected? Oh wait, it's carbureted and you meant to say accelerator pump, and not fuel pump. There is a difference. That's doesn't mean the bowl isn't running out of gas and by the time you get the A/C off, it's full again. Could be some junk in carb.

It is the cam shaft sensor. Those are known to go bad with heat. It also has a switch in it that if the bike falls over it will shut it off. Those go bad also. If the sensor is not pulsing the coil, it could either be the sensor or the ignition module. Since it is heat related, I would guess the it is the sensor.
1. Ignition switch on, Pink wire removed from coil, Red lead on multimeter to BLK/WHT wire on coil, Black lead to ground. This should have read 12v +- power. There was no power reading..
Think you might want to investigate this a little further before you throw any more parts at it

No doubt. I found a section in the manual that deals with ignition problems, tested from the coil to the spark plug, to the cam sensor plate then the ICM. Looks like the sensor plate is my next purchase. Also going to replace the rotor while I'm there. Keeping my fingers crossed this ends my current woe and I can get back on the road.
One of the things I did in the whole process of elimination was to have the carb rebuilt. I wouldn't expect that to be a problem, but it is easy enough to double-check.
