Default another stupid CV carb question

ok guys this may be a dumb question but what does the black rubber house on the lower part of my cv carb do? I checked the manual and it is literally described as "black rubber hose" with no descriptions as to where it goes or what it does. My neighbor thinks it may be a vent. Sorry I don't have a pic, too dark in the garage for cell phone pics, I'll try to get one tomorrow.

Yes overflow hose and also if your overflow is dripping you can loosen the screw on the bottom of the bowl and let the fuel flow to clean the seat.
