I have a problem. 1994 FLHTCU bagger, 80 Evo. I thought the oil coming out of the air cleaner was from the rocker boxes, but I disconnected the breather to the air cleaner, but it still is coming out of the air cleaner. It is reddish in color. Really confused where it is coming from, why and how to stop it.

Sounds like gasoline from reversion. What work was done to the engine?

I had the same issue on my 95fxstc until I put lollipop baffles in. Now I don't have to wipe that **** off my cam cover. Don't know what it means, but it stopped.

Reversion is caused by some compression being forced back through the intake tract. There are several causes for this, Intake valves not sealing, cam timing, intake and exhaust design, or even a problem with the accelerator pump. The red you are seeing is probably the oil from the filter, either from the reversion or over oiling. Hope this helps.

Nothing was done to the engine that i know of. 2nd owner. The exhaust is Kerker and a K&N filter. Cleaned the filter and reoiled it. Hate the oil spray can! I'm thinking of buying a stock air cleaner and seeing if the oil issue goes away.

If you cleaned it and re-oiled it , you probably just used too much oil. It doesn't take too much to oil it. It will stop dripping sooner or later. Patience grasshopper!!!
