My '93...and now my '94...do the same as you're talking about.........nature of the beast...if no psi.....than stop it immediately....sending unit you should be so lucky....or broken key way which would mean no oil pump at all...as said earlier.......yours is just fine.........................................

Thanks, I figured it was fine since it is right in with the manual. I just never saw the super low pressure that gets reported. I think from the posts, I just haven't sat in heavy traffic in the heat and I'll see it then. Guess I don't have to cover up the gauge now. whew!

Oil pressure is nothing to worry about it is volume remember these motors are ball bearings and cannot make the pressure plain bearings can.

As long as the gauge twitches I figure I’m good... mine can read 10 one moment and 3 the next then as much as 25 when cool... no rime nor reason... no weird mechanical noises even when really warm and everything seems to check electrically by the book – no oil-light flickers and never seems to act hot, so I just use the gauge for entertainment when the scenery gets boring...

If your gonna worry about low oil pressure...... dont go offshore with a couple of detroit 671s...almost all overheads start off way up... then go way down once warmed up...not t o worry
