Ive been thinking alot about this lately.
Im looking to purchase a system for my RK for those long trips where it would be nice to have access to an audio out port (ear buds) as well as an aux port to plug my sirius radio into,,and perhaps a usb in port as well so i can do away with fiddling with my iphone to change my music.

Looking to hear bad experiences with units as well as good ones.

 

Best sound system for a bike is loud pipes and no radio.

I know ,,i know.
But even after listening to freebird for 8 hours str8 i sometimes yearn for a little "dreams" by the Allmans.

 

My good buddy went with a dead center detachable fairing for his RK and I wired in an Alpine head unit , with an inline Alpine amp that feeds 4 polk speakers. It is a great setup and he likes it so much now, he just leaves the fairing on full time and cranks the tunes.

If a fairing is not what your after, I can reccomend the setup from http://www.uniqcycle.com/ I wired up the 300 watt speakers, amp and ipod for another good friend. He runs a set of loud vance n hines exhaust and a full windshield and can hear the tunes up till about 75 out on the highway. Around town he hears it a lot better.
