I'm sorry. I just can't get over how beautiful my bike is.

That's a beautiful bike. Just remember, "nature abhors a clean motorcycle", so you better get out there and get it dirty again.

Great looking bike. The only thing I see wrong with it is that it is a sunny day and you aren't riding it.

I try to clean and polish it every weekend because I work at a ready mix concrete plant, so it gets pretty nasty. But I love getting it dirty again.

It was a beautiful day, but I had to work on the homestead. Mended some fence, pulled the pistons out of the wife unit's Saturn, sanded on my tour pack, butchered 17 rabbits, etc. etc. Man, I need a vacation already.

I see you have lowers on your's. I've never been a fan, but they are starting to grow on me. I wonder how they'd look on mine with the stripped down SG look.

It's not really about the look, but about the function. I took mine off when I first got the bike (mainly because I didn't like the way they looked) and ran all summer without them, only putting them back on when it started getting cold in the fall. The following year I didn't take them off right away, and after getting caught in the rain a few times decided to leave them right where they were and have not taken them off since. They are definitely a big plus when the temperature drops, and they make riding in the rain a little less unpleasant. When it gets hot I just use the highway pegs more. Plus they afford a little extra storage in the 'glove boxes' at the top.

I actually just put them back on yesterday since having them off since winter and found they do take some getting use to again with boots on, its kinda like you gotta do some definate lifting of your left foot for shifting. I do like the added storage for small stuff and spare glasses pouch that are on them, speaking of pouches yesterday I picked up a left and right set of leather bags that attach to the front of the saddle bag guards.
I got my wife some leather ones for her 89 Heritage and this spring I tried them on mine just to see how well they worked and I actually thought they did the job well without giving that closed in feeling.
