I entered into a bet with a customer/friend of mine the other day. Whoever loses the most weight by the end of June wins $50.
I started at 222 he was 230. 200 is my goal...........

Good luck with your wager.
I have to reintroduce myself to people I haven't seen in a while. Went to a family reunion and my own brother thought I was a state park employee. I look totally different.

I sewed up a new cover for my backrest today between church services. And I think it turned out pretty good. Great compliment to my riding pleasure.
Hey dude, what do you use to mark on vinyl? I can't find any kind on pencil that will mark it as it's too slick. A silver sharpie works great, but I can't get it all off. Usually denatured alcohol will do it, but for some reason it isn't working well on vinyl.
Thanks. I got the leather from http://www.weleather.com/shop/ . A whole hyde of Argentinian leather was $230 delivered. I only had a few scraps left from on hyde for 2 seats. It was real tight, as in, use this defect as it's up against the center console and use the brand as it's up against the door sill and there's just a few small bits left. It was real close.
If you go leather, look at their selection on their web page and then call them up. Nice people.
This was my first upholstery attempt, my Toyota RN Truck. I didn't take a Before, but just picture cheap vinyl with more holes than vinyl, it seemed.
Also done with Oma's hand cranked Singer. That was 3 oz garment leather. The Esprit was more of a 4 or a little heavier oz leather, but that's all they had in black. A bit harder to work/sew, but it should certainly wear like iron.

I knew those were leather, but I figured that maybe you'd have worked with vinyl too.
I have used the sharpie but on a lot of the seams there is a double stitch. Pardon my ignorance to the terms, but the best I can describe it is; it's sewed inside out like a regular seem and turn right-side out and one piece is folded over and stitched about 1/4 inch from the first seam to develop a type of bead. Does that make sense? Anyway, if you marked it there, it would stick out like a sore thumb.
I'd stop by an upholstery shop and ask someone, but you know how folks are today. Nothing, even information and advice is free anymore.
The old timers used to love to pass along information to younger people.
