Default dual plug heads firing order?

I just had my heads off to be worked on and now that I have it all back together it doesn't seem to run right. is it possible I got the plug wires on wrong? What is the correct firing order for dual plug heads with two coils? I have an fxef 93 cubic inch '81 shovelhead.

It depends on your ignition system, if its still on points they will both fire together so there is no order as such....if you got a single fire electronic system you will need to look up the fitting indtructions online....all the manufacturers have that info on their websites. Hope this helps.

You could just swap the leads round and try starting the beast....

You need to help us to help you! What ignition system and coils do you have? It is most likely that the two plugs in each cylinder will fire together, so with four plug leads you need to be certain you have them connected right.

Just put the two wires from one coil to one head and the two wires from the other coil to the other head and you will be good no matter what ignition you have. If it still runs bad then look elsewhere like an intake leak, valve adjustment, etc.
