I am missing the top tour pack on my electra and since it looks kind of goofy with the back rest (I ride solo) I want to remove the platform for the tour pack and the back rest, but i dont know how. I dont even know how to remove the seat!?!?!

The seat comes off by undoing the 2 bolts on the sides towards the rear. Take the saddle bag lids off and then you can get to the bolts pretty easy, especially with a gear wrench. I think you need a 1/2".

I wonder, though, if you don't have a stock setup. My passenger back rest is attached to the top of the tour pack. Our year did not have a driver's back rest option. Later years had that. Do you mean the grab bars? They come off with bolts through the fender, which you'll see once you get the seat off.

The tour pack rack comes off with the top shock bolts. Then remove the chrome strut covers and knock the rivets out that hold it in there. You'll have to put spacers in between the fender and shock, about 3/8 of an inch, I think.
