Got a S&S 100" for my FXRP!

So...this may be S&S 's fault...if Not the Indy that put it together!!! But, last I had an E with incorrect jetting, on an 80 incher...I knew something was Not Right..
Not Knowing exactly what "Stock 883 Jetting" is... I wonder, Did it not Cough? at least a little, off idle???? Had to be Very Lean... Maybe Jetting...Maybe Manifold!!!
What Exactly Happened to the top end please???
I am No Longer in an Indy shop...But...when we had our shop..We Double Checked Everything... My partner would probably have Degree-d the Cams...Just Because!!
Sad that one could not...Cannot, acquire any Turn-key stuff anymore tho!!!

The bike seemed to run fine; no spitting (you can adjust the accelerator pump to compensate for leanness coming off idle.) But that looong interstate day was too much time in the very lean zone.
Once the motor cooled off overnight, one of the valves stuck open and bent when I tried to start the bike (hence the big "clank". Upon disassembly we found that all the valves were burned, and the cylinders were so worn that we had to go +.030 to clean them up and get a good ring seal.

This was not S&S's fault, it was the EPA. S&S has to install EPA legal jetting in their complete motors. The Intermediate jet was .0265 (should have been .033) and the main jet was .062 (should have been about .082.)

Most of my Pump type Carbs do Not use any Accelerator pump Stroke.. I do Not need that Bandaid..
That lean condition should actually have Done More Damage!! Lucky!
Prolly generated some Serious Heat...huh??
