Default Rattling Brake Pad

Ok, I've got "Ester" on the road and running pretty good, but there is a strange rattle that appears to be coming from the left front caliper. I'm pretty sure its the brake pad, cause if I put just a bit of front brake on it goes away. I cant find anything wrong with it, and the brakes work just fine, and can reproduce the noise on the lift, by spinning the front wheel and stabbing the brakes.

I did have that caliper locking the front wheel up after I put the front end back together. To stop it I pulled the caliper and moved/screwed the threaded bushing out some and it quit locking the front tire, but now I have a what appears to be a loose brake pad?

Any ideas?

Are you certain you have the anti rattle clip in right? Mine rattled until I realised I put it in wrong.,,

Also did you put the thin piece of metal back behind the pad itself? It's like a shim of sorts, left mine out once and it rattled.

Had the same issue on mine. Assembled correctly, all parts in place. Took it apart and put a little "disc quiet" behind it. Works fine, and has been quiet ever since !

X2 on the Permatex stuff, I thought I had an exhaust leak or it was pinging before I noticed it went way when I applied the brakes...

Clips are right, but there wasnt anymore coating on the rear of the pad. Added some anti-squeak and its bearable for now. The pada are at 40%.....maybe a little less. I'm thinkin its time to upgrade to ceramic pads for alittle more stopping power.

Default Front Brake Rattle Solution

I had a front brake pad rattle at certain RPMs on my 2008 SuperGlide Custom. Took it to a local shop and they told me it was because the motor mount was bad which is allowing vibration to get to the front brake. This was hard for me to accept so I went home and got out the manual. Turns out there are 4 Anti-Rattle clips. So if you have a rattle and you have anti-rattle clips there must be something wrong with the clips - Da. I bent the clips so that they apply more pressure to the back of the pads. Within twenty minutes, including the test ride, the problem was solved.
