Default Baffle question

Took my pipes off and found this hole in the header ( I think that's what you call it).

Can a baffle be installed here?

Looks like someone was doing the lollypop washer trick being mentioned on here or had a Big City Thunder baffle in it. it is a sleeve that already has a restriction device (lollypop) built into it, that hole is in the area where the Big City baffle would be installed.

All the baffels that I know of are placed at the end of the tailpipe. I don't know why you would put a hole in the header like that. You might ask NGH why it is there.

From the pic,.... that bolts to the head? Dumbest thing I've seen. Why would someone put a hole there? Must've sounded like crap!! I've not seen or saw it all, but seems strange.

The Big City Thunder baffles go there if you are running mufflers. That is what they say on there web site. The reason being that the baffles will not fit the mufflers, and I think it is for those that have punched out the muffler baffles.

No. That's the end that the muffler slips on to. I have not checked the other pipe, but I'm guessing it's the same.

I ordered a couple of cheap baffles to be mounted in these holes and will report back after I try them.

And, she sounded great when running. I'm just trying to tone her down a bit.

Same.
No you shouldn't put a baffle in a heat shield.
