Same.
No you shouldn't put a baffle in a heat shield.
The pic shows a pipe with a heat shield attached.

The mufflers on Bertha are fishtails. As far as I know, there are no baffles made to slip into the end.

I'm going to HAVE to put the baffle here, or slide it into the slip on. Either way, its going to end up pretty close to this hole.

You can put baffels in fishtails. I did.

I just got some replacement baffels from Drag. I had to drill a hole in the pipes to put the bolt in but you can do it.

I put the hole just behind the bracket on the end of the fishtails.

I think the pipe is IN the heat shield, (or the shield is ON the pipe)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No idea what hole is for.

You just reminded me that there is a (I think you call it) a lollypop mounted back by the mounting brackets. I wonder if I could remove that and put a baffle there?

If you have a lollipop mounted in your pipe you should remove it as both baffles and lollipops are there for back pressure and I think using both would give you too much back pressure.

Depending on where the hole is you might not have to drill one into the pipe to mount your baffles.

So, Here's what I see looking through the end of my fishtails.

Is this a good mounting location for a baffle?

On mine there is a mount where two bolts connect to the exhaust support brace.

I drilled a hole right behind the mount (as close to the mount as I could get it and still put in a bolt).

I cannot tell where that one is bolted in from the outside so I can't tell you.
