Daytona Bike Week Rides

Agreed prices are high, anywhere near Daytona is at least $200/night for some really simple hotels lilke Super 8. I found decent hotels like Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inns in Palm Coast and Lake Mary for around $75/night. But your 45 minutes from Daytona.

I'm changing my fluids tonight. I'm basically going to go through everything, tires, air filter, brakes, probably even put a new battery in since it's at least 2 years old. I tore the primary and tranny apart right before New year's and replaced my clutch. I would also make sure you have a road side service that covers your bike just in case. I learned the hard way that AAA doesn't cover motorcycles, or at least the plan I had. I switched to Allstate Motor club because it will cover any type of vehicle you are in.

head west on SR40, this is one exit south of Destination Ripoff, I mean HarleyTown, I mean, well you know what I mean
anyways, head west on SR40, takes you through some nice areas, over towards ASTOR which is right on the St John's River, there are a few little places for lunch there. You can head back after that, take a side road north or south, or you can keep heading west on SR40 all the way through the OCALA NATIONAL FOREST.
Once you hit Ocala, there isn't much to see other then Ocala, but Ocala is known as Florida's horse country and there are some really nice routes/roads with beautiful countryside.
Head south on US441 from Ocala and you get back to Lady Lake and then finally Leesburg which are cool little towns and Leesburg HD usually has something going on, then jump on 44 and head east, that will take you all the way to New Smyrna and with that a nice jont up US1 brings you right back to Ormond and Daytona
that is a full day of riding if you take the entire route.
