Default new cam color code

Just recieved new ev 27 cam in the mail. Theres no color code marked. Are all Andrews cams red from the factory? They make orange and black but are these special order? Any way of telling without measuring since I dont have any .108 pins lying around the house.

Andrews don't use colors.

No ****. What I'm asking is does the stock andrews cam compare to a red HD cam. Andrews also makes cam that compare to black and orange. Just want to make sure they're special order

I have the instructions . Instructions show how to measure with pins but I dont have the pins. I'm pretty sure it will mate up to a red pinion gear and was just tryin to find out for sure.

Your concern over gear noise can be solved by swaping the cam gears.

Yeah I know but dont have a press. I can get a pinion gear for $37 . It's worth it to me to be able to put the bike back together rather than lose a day looking for a press.

The cam gear noise is not permanent. It does go away over time. That said a friend of mine has put in 2 cams and one made no noise at all and the other had the gear whine mine made.

My point is that if you don't want to wait or try guessing what pinion gear to put in you can just put in the cam and go.
