Premature Signal Cancelling

Premature Signal Cancelling
I have an 1989 FLHTC Electra Glide. I added a couple more LED turn signals for more visibility, and I also have the Illuminator for 3 function tail lights. Previous owner had installed the Illuminator, to which I am just adding more LEDs too. Problem has just started, that when I put the turn signals on they work fine, activate either brake, foot or hand, they stay on, but once I release the brake, they stop flashing. Bike has electrical issues, which I am trying to trace down, because he installed an after market radio, and when I put on the turn signals, it would go off / on, but I think I've figured that out by moving the the radio key wire to another circuit breaker, and ground wire to seperate line. Thanks

Perhaps its you just need a new turn signal flasher. I just replaced mine because the turnsignals were acting screwy. Might flash 1,2 or 3 times and then cut off. Changed the flasher and they work fine. Also changed the Hazard flasher. You can get them at autozone or your favorite parts store. Mine work like new now. Now if I could only find that loose wire that is making my passing lamps go on and off.

I'm not sure if the 89 wiring is like my 92, but there is a wire that is common to the flasher module and the radio. It's a white wire with a green trace that also connects to the speedometer head. It controls the speed sensitive volume and signal canceling by having speed input. If you have that wire.... check a diagram..... I'd start there first since both the radio and the signals are goofy.
