Default Clutch cover 97 EG question

I'm gathering some chrome pieces for my 97 EG. I have looked at Ronnie's HD site and in 2 catalogs at a local indys shop. My question is can a Trans side cover part #37105-99 (99-06) be used on the 97 EG. The part # 37105-99 show to be for a 99-06. The part # for the 97 shows to be a 37105-87a. years 87-98 The 37105- 87a has ribs on it, the 37105- 99 is smooth. I would rather have the smooth one. The local guys say they should swap out but not sure of it. Hoping someone here knows for sure or maybe have used a later cover on an older EG like mine, before I go have them order it. Thanks for time WP

I think you are talking about the transmission side cover. As far as I know a 5-speed cover will fit any 5-speed.

I just changed my cover on my 06 RK due to chrome flaking off, if you have the cover off of your 07 EG, post a picture of the inside of the cover we can compare.

That'll show me not to post while trying to get out the door. LOL

Yes it is the tranny side cover. The part #s are from Ronnies HD site.
I can navigate it better than some others. Hope navigate is the right word, yea I think so. The only listing I have found for my 97 has ribs on it. I'm wanting the smooth if it will interchange.

I hope your right BG Thanks WP

Haven't got this one apart yet Trying to get things ready to change side cover along with a cam cover and rocker boxes.

If you don't get a more definitive answer I suggest you find out Ronnies HD site's return policy. If they have one then I suggest you just order it and if it don't fit return it.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

The return policies are what may hang this up. I can get stuff here but I don't know for sure when I can start on doing this. We have been so dang busy at the shop I don't know up from down. I'm grateful for work but dang I need a break. LOL Doing this at home, I leave stuff strowed around for a few days and I loose to much of it LOL Thanks WP
