Well like I just said on the 87 , 91 is a good bike to and has a couple upgrades like cv carb newer clutch and mainshaft, it also has a differnt crank which really I prefer the older crank. But really the evo's don't change much through the years, so there all good.
How about some pics?

Cold start problems? No, it solves the lean mid range hesitation problem. The CV is a superior carb, easier to tune and better running.
Enjoy your '91.

The problem with a '91 Ultra is many of the electronics, radio, cb, gauges, handlebar switches, cruise control, speedometer, tach etc. are obsolete. It's OK until you need to replace one of these items. Oh, make sure on the mileage, some people think our '90 has 31+ thousand miles but it really is 131+ thousand miles.

Take a look at post 18. I think I may have had it a bit backwards.
As for the carb and evo's the base gasket tends to weep after many not warming the motor up before riding. I always warm my bike up before taking off and the cv has been very good.

There were a lot of things the Evos of that era suffered from. I bought my 1990 new and slowly ticked them all off during the first few years! However as each one was fixed it never went wrong again, so it is not helpful to repeat them these days. Things like leaking base gaskets are fixed with a change of gaskets, but the likelyhood is they were done years ago. I could list the other things I had, but that also is not helpful about a 20 year old bike!
