So, I do know where there is a 98 Road King for sale.
It belongs to one of my customers in Santa Clara.
It's that dark green. Has a matching shorty tour pack,
cam, exh, etc (Might have a Mikuni?? Not sure)
He'd "like to" get 10 for it . . . Yeah . . . And people in
hell would like the ice cream truck too.
he's still in la-la land w/used bike prices.
I need to go check it out. Might solve my bagger search.
What about the swing arm and smaller axle's and all the hoo-
haa that they say about (any) pre 02.
I would like an 02, but if the right Evo came along . . .

What's fair for it. I know this guy. I'm sure it's clean.
$7500? 6500?

How many miles on that 1998 Road King? $10K seems high in my part of the jungle.

Oh, I know. He's dreamin'
I think around 12K mi ?? I'm going to get more
details this week. Obviously, he's not trying that
hard to sell it. I'm thinking $7500
He's just out of touch with used Harley prices.

Figure I'd sign in... 98 FLHPI minus the I. Love the bike, loving it more without the I, even though it's not tuned in yet. Gave 8k out the door, abt 35k on it a year and a half ago. Lots of little things, but it had a bunch of extras on it as well, so I'm thinking it balanced out ok and gave me reasons to 'upgrade-repair' lots of things.

Sell it? For the right price, right price for me, not for you

Plan to keep it outright, wanting a chopper, but will be building one along side it rather than selling or trading it.

I just bought a very sweet, very eagle chrome goodied, garage kept 98 FXD Super w/ 8300 miles for 5.5k from a private seller here in Atlanta, my first Harly ever @ 52. Still had the original Dunlop Elites on it. Owner had just installed Cycle Shack Slip-ons and carb kit on stock motor. Dyno sheet said 61 hp and 72 tq. New tires, fluids and shocks, (been doin my own wrenchin 4evr).

So this guy wants to buy my 98 road king. Tell him it's not for sale. He says everything is for sale. I say okay 20,000 dollars... He says that's too much. I say if you can't afford the best quit bothering me....
