Remember though, your bike will only be as good as the weakest component, if you have a good cam but bad fuelling or exhaust then your cancelling it out and vice versa.
Yup. I was raised on a diet of Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines and grew up in the Fox body mustang age so I understand looking at things from a systems approach for max power.
I don't want to go too overkill on the cam and kill ridability. I know compression and heads are big performers too so I'm not looking to get all the HP I can out of the cam. It's probably going to be a little till I can get some high compression pistons and ported heads so the cam's next on my list.
Just installed an EV-27 two weeks ago for what seems like the thousandth time, Valvetrain noise is nothing to be concerned about at all. Very quiet cam! Yes this is the best choice and stock pushrods are used because Andrews used OEM base-circle on the camshaft.
I have no noise from mine. I actually had a very bad noise before installing mine and it is now gone. I think I had a bent pushrod. So mine is all good. If someone has a noisy drivetrain it could be pushrods out of adjustment (if adjustable) or bad lifters. I know some cams can be noisier but this one is not on my bike.
