+1 on the speed bleeders. We put them on every system we do. It makes a two person job a one person job and they flat out work!!!

Many tips from everyone and hope it all helps with your troubles.
Have found that bleeding bike brakes are a real pain.
A few suggestions ... if the m/c is original , drain it and use a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to suck up possible crap lodged in a very small orriface located at the bottom of the m/c resivour. Have found that this pin sized hole will clogg and prevent normal bleeding .
Rebleed m/c and try to bleed system again . Be sure to top off resivour while bleeding system as any air entering during procedure will send you back to square one.

I really like that backwards method...seems like the easiest way to do it!
