FXR Evo runs fine at times and other times loses power like I am running out of gas.

The Crane is a POS. No experience with the SS but it looks like a Crane, hopefully improved.
IMHO..... I don't think it's a good idea to put electronics in the cone due to heat. Cooler under the side cover.
