Default 88 FLHTC losing power

I've had my 88 FLHTC for about a month now. Starts up first shot every time, and runs strong as hell until it warms up. Once it gets warmed up, I'm hearing some ticking on the right side; sounds like maybe lifters, and the bike starts to lose power and won't accelerate. Then when I come to a stop, I have to pull over and let her cool down for about 30 minutes. Oil level is good, due for a change here, so I'm hoping that will help some. Any ideas from the knowledge base as to what's causing the power loss?

If you have adjustable push rods and one has loosened off that will cause lack of power but sometimes will also cause backfireing enough to blow the carb off.

Thanks, I'm gonna check them out tomorrow. Haven't had any backfiring issues, yet.

Runs bad after it warms up. Could be electrical. Ignition module maybe.

I remember reading where the ignition pick up sensor down on the right hand side can become sensitive to hot or cold. To test this you could you could remove the cover, start the bike up cold and heat the sensor with a heat gun (or someone's hair dryer!). The noise that is becoming noticeable when warmed up may have nothing to do with the poor running. Good luck.

turns out it's the clutch slipping. that's why i wasn't getting any acceleration. tried adjusting today, but after about 10 miles, it was back to the same.
