Default Anyone fitted newer switches?

i want to replace the chrome switches and covers on my 95 road king with black ones, the original pre 96 ones are expensive and rarely seem to come up for sale so can i put new switches and covers on? i know the newer covers dont work with the brake master cylinder (would probably replace that for a black one at the same time along with the clutch) but is there anything else that wouldnt work?

I replaced my '96 switches and brake/clutch perch's with '07 rk ones. only part that was confusing was the kill switch inside the clutch perch for starting the new bikes, clutch has to be pulled in. I pulled that out and mine have worked great.... plus side, by getting stock black they should be pretty cheap for you, got mine for thirty dollars on e-bay Good luck!

I am not 100% positive but you may have to change your clutch lever and cable. Seems when I bought levers for mine (it was custom built in 05) there was a difference. Mine is an 88 fxr bit switches are 2004 type.

When I had my 1989 Ultra, I changed the Handlebar Controls to 1998 controls and switches. The only thing I had to also change was the front brake reservoir. It was needed to mate up to the control housing. I still used the same clutch cable.

Ok, wasn't sure. I have a friend here in Danville, VA has a Klingon bike. Old glide with the Klingon symbols all over it.
