While cross posting is frowned upon, you might get better results asking in the custom forum.

I put a 170 in a 96 Dyna and we didn't change the swingarm, just made new spacers. We had to widen the frame rails to get the mudguard in and also do a chain conversion.

A 140 goes in with no mods but a 150 will likely require a mudguard, some altered spacing and frame rails tweaked...or it may just squeak in OK.

The 170 conversion didn't handle all that nicely afterwards...many will challenge that statement but they must be people who live by straight roads because it certainly altered the cornering.

The 150 should fit with the stock belt, however am 1 1/6" belt would make it a lot easier. You will need at least a.060" thick shim between the rear pulley and wheel to do it though. Check all clearance, fender, fender bolts, belt, belt guard well as each bike varies slightly. If you decide to go to the 1 1/8" belt, the ring on the back of the rear pulley can be removed, the pulley cut down then the ring swaged back on easily by a competent machinist, Hope this helps.

I put a 150 in my dyna and just went to a smaller belt, pulley, and changed the tranny sprocket. rubbed a hair but thats over. I also ran avon venom tires. Looks sick and handles better. I will have a pic up soon need a new camera

I have a 150 in my 1990 FLHS, although I also have a later swingarm and wheel, with narrow belt. I have previously fitted a 140 tyre, but had to trim the belt guard to stop it rubbing.

I tried to use spacers with a wide belt, as John suggests, but the pulley hit the swingarm before I got any clearance! Be aware that no tyre is exactly the width it has written on the sidewall and some can be wider. My previous 140/90 was only 139mm wide, but my 150/80 fitted is actually 153mm wide. Those small amounts can mess things up when things are tight! My 150 is very close to the fender, but fortunately also dead centre.
