Brembo used to make cast iron rotors and they stopped very nicely indeed!

The real key to getting a Harley to stop is to change the master cylinder...it is very primitive but there are very few options available....try a Harley twin disc master with a 6 or 4 pot single caliper.
Even though I couldn't afford it, I wonder how well the new ceramic rotors stop. I would love to change my master cylinder and agree that it is a serious contributor to the problem. The HD master is 9/16" and the dual master is 5/8" (10/16"), so is even less powerful than a single. There is only one master cylinder, that I can find, on the market that is 1/2" (8/16") and that measly 1/16" would give me 27% more pressure at the caliper. I don't know why HD chooses to do this, but wish they didn't. However, that master cylinder just wouldn't look right on my bike. I wish there was some way to sleeve down my master cylinder bore size.
For those who are interested. Pascal's law: Pressure = Force/ Area. Here are a couple of good links.
