Thanks guys, I have just been kicking around the idea the past few days. I think since it's paid for anyway, I'll just keep it for a bar hopper and maybe get a couple year old Street Glide next Spring.

And 1990fxr, sounds like you got a screamin' deal on your bike!!

Good plan. Your FXR is a keeper.

IMO you're doing the right thing......

yeah I seem to have done all right on it......

just in the "right place at the right time" and had the cash

what's funny is that I had barely even heard of the FXRs and was looking for an AMF-era FL.....

I just went to look at this one because it was local and it was "something to do " that afternoon....it belonged to a "friend of a friend of a friend" and wasnt really advertised

however now that I own a FXR and have done a BUNCH of research on them I have found that if I would have done all the same reading before-hand I would have been LOOKING for a FXR

... I have to second what everybody is saying. Being in IL near Joliet, you don't see many running around and FXR's are excellent handlers. Keep the bike and buy an Evo bagger. I got a 93 for my shovel in great shape and made a few mods. You will be happier in the long run. Nothing worse then thinking after it's gone, "I should have kept it..."

my advice is DO NOT sell it but make some changes too it to make mama happy as suggested...

ask ANY "former" FXR owner and they will tell you that you will be kicking yourself in the *** for selling it a couple years (if that long) from now
+1.........1990fxr, 4k......wow, that's what I'm talkin 'bout.

Tahoe, just keep it. There's my vote!

Former FXR owner; KEEP IT! Sweet ride-buy an EVO bagger and turn it into a street glide! More fun, more soul, and a hell of a good time customizing it-all for a MUCH cheaper price!!
