Default mystery parts left over after fork rebuild?

Take a look at the pictures. I have the fork tube plugs and the fork end caps left to install AND................these 2 pieces of round stock??? Are they some type of spring spacer lift? I am looking at the service manual figure 2-50 and don't see anything like these pieces. Do I need to put them back in between the fork tube plug and the springs OR? If I remember right, it's been a couple weeks, they came out from the top of the springs or the bottom. It's really the only place they could go. Any ideas?

Someone added the spacers to add stiffness, just drop them back ontop of the springs.

Thats what I figured since the original and only previous owner (my late brother) was a pretty large guy and he needed all the stiffness he could get.

I think those are the lower stops, they go over the bottom end of the damper tubes.

Preload spacers.
I've had some of those FLY across the shop when I took the cap off.
The bigger the spacer, the more it pushes on the spring, making them stiffer.
I've made some of them outta PVC pipe over the years.
Take a look at your springs also..............
Some springs have a tighter winding at the bottom, (progressive) and the gap between the wire increases as you go up.
MAYBE you have a set of those in there as well, Tight windings goes down.
If your not a "gravitional" as the P.O., maybe you don't need them. Just make sure that springs are making contact with the cap or it'll rattle like a, well, rattle.

JEEP. Just Empty Every Pocket.
Put those spacers on top of the springs.
