Carb fitting.

Carb fitting.
Re built top end and fitted ev27, all went well and went for a run last Sunday. Funny sound from top end, like a scraping noise. Had bike striped again in my mind thinking a ring had broke or something, but bike ran great except for spitting and f**ting and scraping sound.
Got home and had a good listen. Definitely from top end so decided to spray intake manifold with wd40. Sound goes and bike sounds better, cool simple, (well more simple than a top end strip).
Took carb, S&S, off and discovered that the flange on rear cylinder had broken, I will put up hand and say I screwed up and must have over tightened bolts.
Now at last a question.
In the S&S instructions it says to fit manifold and bolts but do not tighten fully, fit carb and fit air filter backing plate then tighten manifold bolts.
How the hell do you get at them?????????
It is hard enough to get an alan key in with carb etc off, but with all fitted!!!!!!! Is there a special tool?
Thanks.
Tony.

Smokey.
Thanks for help people.
Fitted carb to-day using Bikerlaw's stubby allen key idea and just took my time. Seems to have worked ok as there seems to be no leaks.
Bike runs and ticks over great, but, (always a damn 'but'), while ticking over she seems to be very smoky, about same from both exhausts, but when running is ok.
Would this be "normal" until things bed in, or.........(I hate to think).

Hi Mia,not sure if thats what "ticking over" means in Europe but in the UK it means engine running without revving ie.....after starting, once engine is heated/warmed to its normal operating temperature, the engine is running (without choke),or use of throttle. we say "ticking over".
