Well, went for a ride today with my 12 yr old daughter. We made a about a 35 mile loop thru the country roads here by my house. About halfway, my clutch lever, when I would leave stop sign (no stop lights for 30 miles) decided it wouldnt return. By time I got home from lil jaunt the "nub" on end of cable had slipped off the cable itself! I bought this cable on 1-12 of this yr from JP cycles. It was swedged but not soldered in. On better note, I called the tech line, tech named Rob in Daytona said no way could it be my fault. He looked up new cable and it on way in am. Should have it by Wed. they didnt charge me shipping etc! All I have to do is take faulty one by JP cycles in Daytona Sat when i get there. I did have to pay for it and taxes since I am in Fla but I did not expect that kind of service! I just knew my Bike week would be cancelled! I think it is great they and others have that type of customer service in the biking community.
It was a freak thing. Did not help with my 12 old trusting my riding skills with her on the back haha. They are making it right tho that is my biggest thing. I decided to go back to a standard nylon cable from barnett instead. Next one will be genuine hd also.
Yeah, I guess while I had 4 fingers on the brake lever I should have released it and switched the bike off with my thumb. Of course by then I'd have went into the intersection and gotten ran over.
