Stripped hole in inner primary
#31
Just looked at this thread again. We used a 1/2" impact and it worked hard getting the nut loose on the compensator. So we stopped at one of those travelling tool shows that set up in hotels, motels, and granges. they had a 3/4" impact for $39. We fihured what the heck, bought it and it works great!!! So if you see one of these shows around take a look. We bought ours about 5-6 years ago so they might be getting more now, just a thought.

Well, the job was mostly complete on Saturday, just have floor boards and shifter to put back on. Sunday we got 12+ inches of snow which I have been busy clearing. Kind of depressing since it hit 50 degrees last week and almost got rid of enough ice and snow to ride. I may need to get a 1/8" longer bolt for that hole I repaired since the hole was somewhat deeper than I expected and the helicoil seated kinda deep. Biggest pain was when I buttoned up the inner and then noticed that I had forgottten to install the lock ring for the pulley. Doh! I did install a new oil seal on the main Tranny shaft, didn't have the seal protection sleeve as the HD seal installer kit was 128.00 at the stealer.
