I am FINALLY going to do my EV27 cam and bearing job next weekend. Well, actually my Indy is doing it and I'm gonna be there with him to learn this job once and for all. Anyways, after exhaustive cam research I learned that the EV27 is a great bolt in cam, but its for basically stock motors like mine. If I was doing heads and higher compression I would probably choose a more aggressive cam like the EV46. That being said I also noticed that damn near every cam company makes a cam with virtually identical cam specs to the EV27, if you do choose that spec'd cam. Not saying any one is better or worse because it is a great choice, but just wanted to throw out the info that they ALL make an EV27 equivalent.

Here is the cam sheet for Andrews with the intended applications. Check it out and see what cam you think will best fit what your throwing together.
