Default mainshaft bearing

anyone swap out their inner primary mainshaft bearing on their early EVOs for a sealed one?

dennis kirk sells them ...2 great reviews

debating

...i got the inner primary off, anyway... sending it out along with the cover for powder ...so it's all gotta come apart, anyway

Double sealed? seems unusual for the application.

Many of the replacement double sealed are meant to go on the mainshaft without the race. So if the one you are looking at is that way you will have to pull the race off of the shaft.

...yah, i'm looking at the inner primary and bearing and the race isn't there

race must be on the shaft

that shaft gotta come out of the tranny to get the race off?

maybe just best to stay with OEM like 'sqdealgeorge' says

I have run one for over 15 years...I originally ran one because I was running a belt drive with a dry primary...I put a wide tire kit on my bike, and went back to a primary chain and stayed with the sealed bearing because it makes for easier primary teardowns.

and was perusing George's tools....and indeed, the race can be taken off the tranny shaft... tool is $135.00 ...yikes!

...hate to have to add that bad boy to my collection if i'm only gonna use it once ....damn
