Default Not so Horny!?

My bike that is. Bought a "Bad Boy" self contained "air" horn recently and besides looking cheap ( plastic chrome), not working, and looking like shat on the bike there was nothing wrong with it. Ended up getting a "stock" horn aftermarket copy so back to the weak sounding stock horn. Question is do the new and much louder Harley Horns fit under the stock horn cover of the Evos?

Also anyone know of a loud "aftermarket" stock size horn that would fit under the existing horn cover? I like the stock looks of the horn and think those "air horn" set ups detract from the stock looks of a Harley.

theres a thread in the DIY forum where a guy describes splitting a Stebel air horn, putting the horn part under the stock horn cover and hiding the compressor elsewhere. Myself, I paid a couple extra bux and got a "nova Chrome" Stebel. It doesn't look too bad but the stock cover will not cover it.

My horn recently stopped working. I took it apart (cut the rivets off, etc.) and tried to fix it, then just said screw it and bought a replacement horn at the dealer. The original horn was a Delco Remy. They are, of course, bankrupt now. The original was the same as the "C" horn used on half or more of the GM vehicles made between about 1965 and 2005. The replacement horn from the dealer was actually a couple bucks cheaper than what I could have got it from from O'Reilley's. But, it was also a mirror image of the original, which means that my original cover wouldn't fit. I bought another OEM HD cover on eBay new in the bag that fit the mirror image horn and got it all back together. Then, naturally, it didn't work and I had to "tune" it by pulling the glued on cover off and fiddling with the screw. The whole ordeal was a PITA.

I picked a low profile horn from Bikers Choice that almost sounds like the old "Road Runner" horn. I like it because it has a higher pitch that can be heard over the pipes. Plus it was thin enough that it fir under the left hand side cover which allowed me to clean up the lefy hand side of the engine!!!
