bikes shutting off

Default bikes shutting off

my bike has done this to me 4 times now.it's like it vapor locks if you let it set for about 5 mins it starts back up and runs fine until it does this again.has anyone had this problem.bike is a 98 wide glide and any help would be great.

Sounds like a battery trying to go out IMHO.

i thank it's fuel related because when it does this it acts like it is running out of gas.what gets me is it does not do it all the time.

You could try leaving the cap slightly loose and see if it still does it, or just get another cap.,,

big cahuna i'm going to give that a try because don't the tank vent throw the cap.and it seems to do it more right after i fill it up

I've experienced a similar problem on my 98 Low Rider. The tank is actually vented through a vapor orifice on the left side.

Overfilling the tank will quickly clog the vapor orifice up.

Disconnect the hose from the orifice and see if the problem goes away.

thanks evorider going to give that a try to.the bike done this to me on the way to thunder beach in panama city fl i stopped got gas and about mile down the rode bike done this waited about 5 mins everything was good bike did not do it anymore and that was about 800 miles ago.

well i took the dash and the vapor orifice off and the hose from the top of the tank to the vapor orifice is bad going to put on a new hose and try it.thanks for the help
