The Jims Tools numbers for the tools are, Puller-95760TB, and the installer is 2188. They work on all single cam big twin engines from 1958 to the present. The one thing I like about the puller is that it captures the rollers so they can't fall out while you are removing the brg. As said above, you can also use your old cam to install the brg, but the Jims installer is fool proof as it lines up the brg, and sets it to the right depth. One thing that helped me was someone posted on here to use a small hose clamp around the puller to squeeze it together when pushing it through the cam brg. Then use a screw driver to remove the clamp through the lifter block hole. Works extrememly well, and makes it easier to do.

EV 27 is a pretty proven unit. Hard puller with long life.
Why re-invent the wheel when you could be ridin?

so pulled bike apart, long story short it has been updated already. has ev38 cam which one would be better the ev 27 or ev 38. also osunds like the ev 38 requires better springs. how can I tell if the springs are andrews or stock? had lots of carbon buildup on the front piston, plug was fouled as well. Bad timing or what hsould i be looking for there. the rings seem good and still some honing marks on the cylinder wall as well.
