Oil light still on...aargh!
I'm totally stumped.
I just rebuilt my engine after the inner cam bearing went (see 'oil light stays on at idle' thread). New cam plus inner bearing installed. I have also installed an oil pressure gauge just to make sure I can keep my eye on it in future. During the re-build I ensured all the oil lines and passage ways where cleaned out
Problem is, on start-up my bike is showing zero pressure and the oil light is still coming on.
I removed the cover of the oil pump and turned the motor to confirm it is working, and i seems to be working fine. I presume if the cogs are spinning in the oil pump, it is working right!?
Haven't a clue where to go from here. Should I just take it out for a ride and see if it sorts itself out?
Any advise on where to go from here....?
Cheers
Grant

Does the oil light go out as revs increase?
Does the oil light go out if you remove the wire to the switch?
Is it a new switch?(because it should be)
Is the oil returning to the tank?(As in, is it actually circulating at all)
Did you prime the oil pump?
Did you wash out the oil tank?
Did you replace the oil lines(cause you should have)?
Have you substituted a test light for the oil light, to see if IT goes out?
A new cam and bearing is not a rebuild.

I feel like a total idiot! It is not the oil light that stay on, its the engine light.....doh!
The oil light goes off, and stays off, however the engine light is lit when the bike is running...
I guess I should check the posts to see what the potential problem of the engine light remaining on?
Any ideas?
Cheers
