Default 90-99 Fatboy tin difference

Is there any difference in the interchangeablity of the 90-96 Fatboy sheetmetal versus the 97-99?

Watching ebay paint set auctions that seems to be the listing breakdown.

I asked a seller that question. His reply was the paint scheme is the only difference as far as he knew.

The reason I ask is I bought a tank/fender set for my bike and would like to sell my current set to a 94 owner.

"Regular" softails had a cut-out under the seat for an electrical box starting mid year 96...I suspect the same for fatboys.

Thanks. Thought it would be something technical. The Harley dealer parts guy didn't know and neither did the indy shop guy. Looks like no big deal. Should bolt on to my buddies bike.

I'm not sure about the softtails, but the touring bikes of around 1990 have a narrow rear fender compared with later bikes. I can only just get a 150 rear tyre in mine, but on later models there is more room for wider tyres. Unfortunately I don't know when those changes were introduced.

Thanks Graham. Fortunately this situation we both have the same "tyre" size.
