Agreed. It's a nice change from when I built my first bike back in the early 90's with nothing but an FSM. Most of what I learned then was from fixin my screwups. Usually on the side of the road or in the parking lot of a bar while my wife and her sister were drinkin beer while the brother-in-law and I fixed it. Made it across Canada though.

I think I'm pretty close. Here's the plan so far:

1. 2002+ swingarm with Sta-bos
2. Upgrade shocks (2009 OEM shocks or Progressive 412 or Ikons.
3. Progressive Susp front springs.
4. Late model front brakes (or maybe a set of Hayabusa brakes and make my own mounting bracket)
5. 1991-2006 transmission gearset.
6. Primary to match above.
7. Upgraded clutch (still deciding on which one)
8. S&S 111 (pretty much decided on this now)

I'm starting to pick up the smaller items off of ebay now. I might do the 2009 fuel tank depending on how Graham's project turns out.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

Nigel

Suggest you look for `91 or later gearset, the mainshafts are a little beefier.

Thumbs up

Nigel,

I plucked 33 out of the air back in #10! It seemed a safe way in the distance at the time. My 6 US gallon (actually of course 5 Imperial gallons! ) tank is held waiting for supposedly 'off-the-shelf' parts at present.
