Default S&S Super E Air Filter

Looking for part # for a k&N filter for a super e teardrop housing. Indy shop in town send wrong one and I just want to double check on part # before i order again.

I have two of the K&N S&S filters. You have to modify the backing plate slightly by grinding off a ridge to make them fit. Just so you know.

Thanks, the shop ordered in just the tear drop filter, not the super e tear drop. there is a little difference in width and when the cover was tightened on the filter had about 1/4 inch of movement and won't seal.

i bought the K&N for my S&S super, didnt have to do any grinding. it comes round but it pushes on nicely.

Default s&s filter

is there any difference in the width of the s&s super e and g filters and is there any way to tell if u have a super e or g or cv

I had a G on my old FLHTC,ran like crap,bought an E on ebay,seems like I just used the same filter.

On the back side of the carb it will say what model it is

Yep,exactly right! wouldn't idle good,surged at hiway speed,etc. after I put the E on it,was like another bike,ran so much better.

I had my previous motor stroked and tuned and had similar problems. The first carb I used was an Edelbrock, that couldn't feed it, so I bought a twin-choke SE Holley. That did the same as you describe. Solved the problem with an S&S - complete with a whole S&S motor!
