first of all if you use paypal they dont get access to the money until you leave feedback or 20 days go by. as for the description, well if it doesnt say its missing anything, or i dont know if its missing anything, then the buyer is covered. but then if it said = i dont know anything about this carb, first id want to see more pictures, and first, did i say first already, anyways, first i wouldnt buy it. or for sure if it said = as is, i wouldnt buy it. always better to ask questions and get more info on some of the items.

I am not sure if I was misled ...I emailed him to let him know it was missing the part but still have not heard back from him. I guess it was my mistake for buying a carb with only one picture and such a vague description. Here was the full description:

"Up for auction is a used performance tuned carb by Barber 883 on ebay.Used one season then took off before trading in for new bike"

I asked him questions about jetting and a few other minor things before buying but didn't think to ask a question like "is it missing anything?". It might be an innocent mistake but I am thinking he knows a little about bikes so he knew he probably knew he removed it.

For me, the last straw with Ebay was a set of CVO mufflers from one of those power sellers with hundreds of feedbacks. The mufflers were not the ones pictured, had two different end caps so I had to purchase another and one of the mounting bolts was broken off requiring me to drill it out so I could mount it. That was last of Ebay/Paypal for me. I think the guys with the thousands of postive feedbacks just know how to manipulate the system.

I have made many purchases from HD-Forums members as well as Harley Tech Talk members and each one of those sales was a positive experience. One fellow sent me the item before I sent him the payment, I contacted him about using a USPS money order and the next day I got an email saying the item was already shipped with the name and address to put on the USPS Money order.

I would have to be really desperate to use Ebay again.

That's probably because the Mikuni carb installation re-uses the stock enrichener cable.

You should have received the part by now. I sent it Monday, 2 day USPS so that probably means 3 days to CA LOL.

A MILLION THANKS to you, miacycles! I really appreciate you sending me that throttle cable bracket..I owe you one...
Now, I'm a happy banana

You must have felt the vibe of my postlady putting it in my mailbox
My mail was just delivered and there is was....that was speedy for sure.

So I went directly to the garage and mounted it on the carb, fits perfectly....
I was just coming here to let you know I received it and I saw your post.

Just one question....about my throttle and idle cables...does the one with the spring go to the rear in the port that is deeper? (I think on my butterfly carb it went to the front port, which was the deeper one.)

Yup, you got it, pocket closest to intake manifold which is your idle cable (return). The deeper pocket.
