Default Dealership find

Went to a dealership to purchase push tubes and made a comment about still having Evo parts, the partsman said that the Evo was the best engine built and I should go to the showroom floor.
They had a trade in of a 2000 yellow pearl Evo FXR with another letter on the end and please forgive my ignorance on this, it had 3400 miles and looked like it rolled out of the factory. I was under the asumption that 1999 was the last year for the Evo but I was looking at a perfect 2000 model. The dealer had a tag of $10,500 on it and considering it was setting next to $20,000 bikes, I consider that a fare price.
If someone purchased a Sportster over that bike, I would recommend having the area between the ears checked, aknowledged the partsman on the way out and he smiled.

Default 2000 fxr4

The 2000 FXR4 was the last production EVO.

The color is Screamin' Yellow Pearl, with Eclipse graphics.
They produced a Candy Tangerine color as well. Quite rare, as I think there were only 1000 of these produced.

My personal opinion.....it is a superior machine to all the ones it sits next to.

Agreed. Many consider the FXR to be the pinnacle of Harley big twin performance and certainly the best handling Harley ever to don a single camshaft motor. The 2000 was the very last Evo sold as new and like posted, is quite rare. And for a dealer, thats a great price. The FXR styling is not for everyone. Many don't like it, but its superior ride and handling more than make up for that to many enthusiasts.

To me all thats needed is a simple wide glide conversion and chrome frame inserts for the FXR to be as good looking as any Harley made. 2000 FXR nailed my vision of FXR perfection. I would trade out my Dyna so fast for a bike like his its sick.

If I had seen that bike sitting on the showroom floor, I would have bought it on the spot! One of the rarest Harleys ever made - and from all that I've read, probably the very best, too.

I've read that the Harley engineers managed to get the FXR4 out for themselves - back when those kinds of pet projects could still be done in corporate America...

Yes, it had some distinctive graphics on it, a little dash of chrome and the non-black engine was distingished looking, I'm a RK bagger guy but when you see something as sweet as that, you can't keep it to yourself.
If I had some extra cash, I would of posted pictures of my new purchase but we will just have to go off the picture in my head.
