Graham,
If you are speaking about the stabilizers (two on mine), then why not just install the V-Thunder urethane HD's like I did? I stayed with the stock later model front motor mount though as seemed to be the consensus of the board members.

Buddy,

I have a True-Track kit installed, with third stabilizer, plus Trackula kit with solid bronze swingarm bushings and new rubber mounts all round. That seems to have pretty well everything tied down! I have also just fitted a late swingarm and rear wheel with Ohlins shocks and modified the T-T bushings to fit the newer swingarm. I think I have done that end of my bike to death now - front forks next....

I haven't even taken the wheel off yet I have a tire in the kitchen it'll need before long and I may wait and do the swingarm tire change after next. I never saw much crooked road in FL anyway and it's stable at 80... Besides, those chicks you're rounding up will have their own bike to ride us on, right?

Got the swingarm bearings installed yesterday along with a new tire, same type tire I've been running for 20+ years on this bike but even so, it's difficult to be precisely objective about the results. At the same time, I took it thru every place close to here I could remember it having seemed "uncomfortable" even when the replaced tire was still healthy and though not an earth-shattering difference, it did seem more stable, like the wheel was really staying put and everything it did was very responsive to me rather than me thinking "darn are you having a bad day? - pay attention!" Yes, it feels good, rides better and is much more deliberate and responsive with handling but a new tire alone would do that.

I've never had the wobbles so many complain about with later models and the clevblocs and isolaters were totally good. I didn't have time to find any high-speed heavy traffic with lots of trucks giving off violent turbulance, but so far it seems like it has made an improvement with the 100 miles I did test ride. Still running the original front engine mount ('87) which I had off recently and it's good.

Should be around Gaston SC in a few weeks. PM me with a phone number and maybe we can meet somewhere. Better get ready, she'll do 120 in third if I want her to. Sorry, but I can't pack two chicks and my gear at the same time long as you're not going there.
