Question Help finding rings for Wiseco pistons

I recently purchased rings for a 1985 FLTC, the oil ring is too wide and won't fit in the groove of my pistons.

I am looking for rings to fit a pair of Wiseco 10:1 pistons. The numbers stamped on top are 4508PS & 4509PS front and rear pistons. I believe these are no longer produced as Wiseco and other vendors don't mention these numbers in their descriptions.

I would appreciate any help on this.

If the Bikers Choice don't work then contact Total Seal Rings. They make rings for anything. Hope this helps.

Ran into this on mine last year. Apparently, once uppon a time, Wiesco used thin rings for their better sealing ability.. However, the bore finish is critical to its sealing ability.. Somewhere along the lines, because of some issues with guys not properly finishing the cylinder walls, they changed to a wider ring, making it fun for us to find them.. My indi told me this story and ended up ordering and getting the right rings.. Guys you'll need to call them or do a bit of legwork. Worst case, let me know and I'll ask him where he got them.. He called them the "old style" Weisco rings.

Thanks for all the information guys.I talked to Mike and he said, after hearing these pistons are discontinued for the oil ring deal, that he's just going to buy new Keith Black 10:1's and stick them in there.

Once again... Thank you!

Guys, I'm not a racer or all out performance guy. But, when I did my top end, I did some homework and found it a little difficult to get the gapless rings. Even if I did, they would not have fit my Wiseco's anyhow.. So, I decided to go with the Wiseco rings, wich were not a problem to get once we realized they were the old style pistons.. Putting it together the gap was to be set at .011"(from memory)... Thats nearly nothing. With 2 rings, 180* off from eachother with .011" gaps, I find it very hard to believe that the average guy would ever see a difference.. Plus, when they get up to temp, they'll be closer... I'm not discounting the performance gain, when going all out. But for my particular application,I'm glad I didnt go that route, mainly because of my pistons..

Ive used both,(total seal, and reg).I think its a matter of opinion once agin.I prefer regular rings personally. As for KB pistons, ive heard mixed results with em.I put a set in my big bore shovel, and knock on wood theyve been there for a hard 25k.In a racing application i would stay away from them though.I think alot of the problems associated with KB is the machine shop. They have some very tight tolerences and most pepole are scarrred to set up that way.Just my 2 cents.
