Evo Crankcase breather filter. Fit or not?

On my 99 Softail Custom I have the air cleaner nub blocked, and the vent hose going to the bottom of the bike. I do not have any oil comming from the hose as long as I do not fill the oil tank to the full mark. If I fill it to the full mark it will always drip oil on the garage floor when I shut it down and park it. Just me, but I think any restriction in the vent can contribute to engine gaskets leaking.
I also keep the oil level about 1/2 way up the stick, but when I ride steady at 70 to 80 mph, like on the interstate, it still mists some oil.

The tee thing does seem to be the best solution. I may do that also now that I think about it. Most of my riding is done at 65 and below, with up to 80 maybe for a short time. Probably why I do not have any drips. Still, looks to me like the tee will be the best of both worlds. Very good idea.

That's what I love about this Evo forum... lots of very useful and creative information that I would never think up myself. Thanks EVOrider!

As I'm running an S&S Super E carb and backplate, I fitted a Drag Specialties chrome crossover (similar to the SE), between my SE heads. Then ran a 3/8" hose down between the engine and transmission, under the transmission and fitted a cleanable filter to the end of the hose. I also installed an S&S Reed valve breather while into the cam chest for a cam change. With those two mods, no more misting, carryover and the carb stays clean.
